The Agriculture Segment provides a wide variety of trading and other services for the agricultural and food industry. The range of services includes the international trade and logistics of selected agricultural commodities, as well as the sale of operating resources and feedstuffs. The Group also holds a key position in fruit trading, both within Germany and on an international level. When it comes to agricultural equipment, BayWa covers a range of activities, from the sale of new machinery, maintenance and repair to the marketing of used machinery. In the Digital Farming business sector, the company is developing and marketing digital offers designed to increase productivity in agriculture. BayWa covers the entire value chain, from the field to the marketing of produce, making it one of the leading European trading companies with a global reach.
Trading activities for conventional - primarily fossil - energy carriers and the Renewable Energies business sector are pooled in the Energy Segment. Under the umbrella of BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH, the Group covers the entire value chain in the renewable energies business, including the development, realisation and sale of operation-ready turbines and plants plus system support, in addition to trading in photovoltaic systems and components, as well as electricity, gas and heat from renewable energy sources. This business sector has an international focus, and its core markets are found in Europe and the United States, with increasing emphasis on South East Asia moving forward. In its conventional energy business, BayWa predominantly sells heating oil, fuels, lubricants and wood pellets in southern Germany and Austria. It also offers comprehensive and customised solutions for the energy supply of commercial, municipal and private properties.
The Building Materials Segment covers the entire range of products and solutions for building materials - from civil engineering, construction, renovation and modernisation to gardening and landscaping and even energy solution packages. The product range is geared towards construction companies, municipalities, craft and commercial enterprises as well as consumers. Informative exhibition areas and a variety of services in line with the portfolio are available to customers. Topics such as healthy housing and "Effizienzhaus Plus" are among the innovative focal points of the building materials business. The core region is located in southern Germany and Austria, where BayWa is one of the leading providers in the building materials trade.
